A Life Care Center facility in Kirkland, Washington was the source of a major outbreak of COVID-19 first reported on February 19, 2020, which became the first outbreak in a United States nursing home. On February 19 there were 120 residents and 180 Center employees at the facility.
Once waited more then 20 minutes with no answer to call button! By March 5, at least 13 residents and 2 workers had tested positive for COVID-19. The death toll in the state had risen to nine with six of the deaths being confirmed to be from residents at the center. The following day gave updated numbers of 18 residents and six workers who were infected with a further 10 cases linked to the site being non-residents who visited the location. Of the 11 deaths in the state, 10 of them were connected with the center. On February 19, 2020 the first resident was transferred to a local hospital; this resident would test positive for COVID-19.

The upper management has no idea what is going on. You would of thought with people from corporate just being there in August 2021 that things would improve however, as I already said, management and directors have no clue. I realize that all segments are short handed help but, if that is the case, Life Care has no business taking in clients. I must say that there are a few good people there but I say FEW. This has been such a disappointing experience and Life Care has a 4 rating?? I intend to share my review with mother's insurance copmpany.

Mother was placed on a nebulizer by Michael the weekend of Sept 5, 2021. The machine was to run for 15 minutes but ran way past that time frame. Michael told my mother her forgot about her.

I feel very much at home here at Burlington Life Care. He has made tremendous progress in one week. Operators Peggy and Patti are extremely helpful as are nurses Holly and Kristi. Every time she used her call button for assistance to the restroom, she was forced to wait 40 minutes or more. I timed them after I realized how much it was happening. She was forced to get herself to the restroom alone out of desperation only a couple of weeks after surgery. They continually forgot to bring her her pain medication even upon request. They also sent attendants to "assist" her to the restroom that had no idea how to get her up, in which case she was again forced to get herself up in extreme pain. This place looked great when we toured it, however it was a sad mistake to send my boyfriend there. Not only did they never answer his buzzer when pressed, they also had no idea what was going on, ever. He suffered from many broken bones, including his pelvis, and was given discharge papers to apply no weight on his legs for the next 3 months. Within an hour after being at life care center, they asked him to get up. Luckily I was there and asked them to actually read the papers they were given.
